About Us

If I had a second chance to be 3-year-old I would love to spend some of my morning hours at your preschool. The warm, welcoming staff and the creative environment are irresistible! - Joanna Faber, author How to Talk so LITTLE  Kids Will Listen
Millbrook Community Preschool at Grace Church was established in 2006 in the heart of the village, and has been setting a standard of excellence in early childhood education ever since. We are a traditional morning preschool with age specific programming for three- to four-year-olds and kindergarten-bound four- to five-year-olds.

We offer an inclusive, non-denominational program on the beautiful grounds of Grace Episcopal Church. Our passionate teaching team is committed to holistic learning. We work to instill in each child a sense of belonging within and beyond our community. For many of our children, this is their first social group outside of the home. We therefore recognize and promote the importance of strengthening self-help skills and supporting growing independence in the children.

While a great deal of our time is spent outdoors, our indoor learning takes place in the bright and spacious premises downstairs in the historic Grace Parish House. Our school is comprised of four rooms—a cubby room for children to hang their coats and backpacks upon arrival, a library room for quiet play and reading, a snack/art room and a large circle room for morning gatherings, music and building blocks. The open areas surrounding the rooms allow space for our learning centers: a costume and kitchen zone for dramatic and domestic play, a water/texture table, sand table, train table and easel. The upstairs floor of the Parish House, with its gleaming wooden floor and vaulted ceiling, is used for indoor yoga/movement, big group games, and indoor tricycle and scooter riding.
In the outdoor playground, children are free to explore the large wooden pirate ship, slide, swing set, and other equipment for climbing, balancing and spinning. Our newest addition to the playground is our "kinderhut". The kinderhut offers a sheltered, outdoor classroom adjacent to our school.
